Position Overview Virginia Transformer Corp is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and support the financial integrity of a rapidly growing, multi-site manufacturing organization. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, ensure compliance with GAAP, and partner closely with finance and operations leadership to drive accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across the business. This is a high-impact role offering visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to help build and enhance accounting processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Close Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and close procedures Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and supporting schedules Partner with Finance leadership on P&L analysis, cost tracking, and operational reporting Provide insights into cost drivers, margins, and business performance to support decision-making Team Leadership Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals Establish clear performance expectations and drive accountability across the team Foster a culture of accuracy, urgency, collaboration, and continuous improvement Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards Support internal and external audit activities Maintain documentation, reconciliations, and processes to ensure audit readiness Process Improvement & Systems Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and other business leaders to improve financial workflows Support ERP and system enhancements as needed to scale the accounting function Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred 5-10+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Experience managing, mentoring, or developing a team Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment Preferred Experience Manufacturing or industrial accounting experience strongly preferred Cost accounting or plant accounting exposure Experience supporting multi-site or global operations Experience in a high-growth or evolving organization Why Virginia Transformer Industry leader in power and energy infrastructure Rapid growth supporting data centers, utilities, and renewable energy High-visibility role with direct impact on business performance Opportunity to build, improve, and scale accounting processes in a growing organization Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and full benefits package If you'd like, I can also turn this into a condensed /job board version .
