Accounting Manager (Non-Profit Housing & Hospitality) About Bayside Housing & Services At Bayside Housing & Services, our mission is to strengthen community through housing, advocacy, and human services supporting social and economic independence. We operate a unique model that blends compassionate non-profit housing and services with hospitality operations. We are seeking a dedicated, mission-driven Accounting Manager to oversee our financial functions. In this role, your financial expertise won't just balance the books—it will directly support and sustain our vital community programs, ensuring we can continue to provide housing and advocacy to those who need it most.

Exempt, Full-Time Schedule:
Generally Monday through Friday, on-site at our hotel property in Port Hadlock, WA.
Compensation:
$65,000 (DOE). The Accounting Manager is responsible for the integrity, compliance, and strategic oversight of all financial functions at Bayside Housing & Services, a 501(c)(3) corporation. Working closely with bookkeeping staff and leadership, you will ensure our financial health aligns with our mission to foster community strength and independence.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Financial Oversight:
Manage financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, project proformas, and budget preparation in collaboration with bookkeeping staff.
Internal Controls:
Establish and adhere to strict internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions, budget preparation, and grant oversight.
Reporting & Forecasting:
Prepare clear business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets, ensuring that all reported results comply with GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles).
Compliance & Audits:
Audit accounts to ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; coordinate closely with outside auditors and provide necessary documentation for annual external audits.
Mission Support:
Direct financial insights toward sustaining grants, maximizing resources, and ensuring the long-term economic stability of our housing and human services programs.
Required Skills & Abilities Software Expertise:
High proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop (Enterprise preferred) and standard accounting software.
Organizational Skills:
Excellent time management, problem-solving abilities, and keen attention to detail.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present financial data to leadership and partners.
Team Alignment:
A collaborative, results-driven approach with a deep appreciation for non-profit and community-focused work.
Education and Experience Education:
BSc/BA in Accounting, Business Administration, or a highly relevant field.
Experience:
5+ years of related accounting experience.
Specialized Experience:
Proven background in non-profit accounting, grant management/billing, and business strategic management is highly preferred.
