$80-90k DOE We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a growing manufacturing organization with facilities in Spokane, Washington and Arizona. This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong accounting professional who enjoys managing people, improving processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Position Summary The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, supervising a team of up to five accounting professionals, overseeing month-end and year-end close activities, coordinating external audits, and ensuring compliance with state and local tax requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong general ledger background, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a solid understanding of GAAP, including lease accounting under ASC 842. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a team of seven accounting staff members. Manage all general ledger accounting activities and ensure accurate financial reporting. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjusting journal entries (AJEs). Maintain and administer lease accounting in accordance with ASC 842, including preparation of lease-related journal entries and reconciliations. Coordinate and serve as the primary contact for external auditors during annual financial statement audits and other compliance reviews. Prepare and file state and local sales tax returns for multiple states. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. Review and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial processes. Reconcile bank accounts and all general ledger accounts monthly. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent accounting experience. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Prior experience managing accounting staff. Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience. Experience with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation. Experience preparing and reviewing adjusting journal entries. Working knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting requirements. Experience managing external audits. Experience filing multi-state sales and use tax returns. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Manufacturing industry experience. ERP system experience. Cost accounting experience. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience.
