Job Description

We are partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization to find a Manager of Inventory & Cost Accounting who will play a key role in strengthening inventory accuracy, improving cost visibility, and supporting business growth across multiple facilities. What You'll Do Cost Accounting Leadership Lead and develop the cost accounting function, including mentoring and supporting a Cost Accountant. Own and continuously improve standard costing methodologies, annual cost rolls, overhead allocations, and cost governance processes. Ensure accurate labor, overhead, routing, and material cost structures across product lines. Analyze standard versus actual cost variances and partner with operations teams to identify root causes and corrective actions. Inventory Accounting & Controls Partner with operations and inventory control teams to ensure inventory accuracy across multiple facilities. Review cycle count results, physical inventories, inventory reserves, and related financial impacts. Develop reporting and analysis around inventory aging, excess and obsolete inventory, scrap trends, and inventory accuracy metrics. Strengthen inventory controls and improve financial visibility into inventory performance. Manufacturing & Margin Analysis Deliver monthly gross margin reporting across products, customers, locations, and operational areas. Provide meaningful insights into profitability, cost drivers, and manufacturing performance trends. Evaluate the financial impact of process changes, material substitutions, product modifications, and operational improvements. Cross-Functional Partnership Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and leadership teams on cost-related initiatives. Support new product introductions through cost estimates, BOM validation, routing setup, and ongoing cost tracking. Provide financial analysis related to sourcing decisions, process improvements, and operational investments. Systems & Process Improvement Serve as the finance lead for ERP cost and inventory modules. Develop scalable reporting, internal controls, and financial processes to support a growing manufacturing environment. Partner with business intelligence and reporting teams to enhance dashboards and decision-support tools. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Strong experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment. Experience leading inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting. Previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred. Strong ERP experience, ideally within manufacturing-focused systems. Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across finance and operations teams. Experience working in fast-paced environments with a continuous improvement mindset.
