May 22, 2026 Full-Time Locations Showing 1 location Sheboygan, WI 53081, USA Job Details Description The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the company's financial reporting function, ensuring the timely, accurate, and complete preparation of financial statements in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. This role serves as a key leader within the finance organization, overseeing the close and consolidation process, maintaining a strong internal control environment, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. The position also partners with finance and business leaders to provide clear visibility into financial results, key drivers, and emerging risks. In addition to core reporting responsibilities, this individual will play a critical role in strengthening processes, systems, and data quality to support the company's continued growth and operational complexity.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Close Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation processes across all business units Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages for executive leadership, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders Maintain responsibility for the general ledger and financial reporting system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data Systems & Data Integrity Oversee the integrity and structure of the general ledger, including account design, entity setup, and reporting hierarchies Maintain strong working knowledge of key sub-ledgers (A/P, purchasing, inventory, fixed assets, sales order) and their integration with the general ledger Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting capabilities, and data quality, including automation and standardization efforts Controls & Compliance Ensure a robust internal control environment over financial reporting, including documentation, compliance, and ongoing process improvement Support the annual external audit process, including coordination of audit requests and preparation of required financial schedules Assist in maintaining and enhancing accounting policies, procedures, and governance practices Business Support & Financial Insight Provide financial visibility and insight from reported results to support understanding of performance drivers, trends, and risks Partner with finance leadership to support business needs through accurate and relevant financial information Support the annual budgeting process through financial data, consolidation, and reporting accuracy Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and develop the financial reporting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth Provide direction, prioritization, and oversight to ensure high-quality output and efficient processes Build organizational capability in technical accounting, reporting, and systems expertise Projects & Continuous Improvement Lead and support special projects, including system implementations, process improvements, and integration of new business activities Identify and implement process efficiencies and improvements across financial reporting and close activities Support organizational initiatives related to growth, acquisitions, and finance transformation
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES/DIRECT REPORTS
This role has three direct reports: Staff Accountant - Fixed Assets, Staff Accountant - Sales & Use Tax and Financial Accounting Supervisor. TRAVEL Less than 5%.
QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a manufacturing environment 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience CPA, CMA, and/or MBA preferred Strong knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation, and internal controls Experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred) and financial reporting tools Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve processes, and operate in a dynamic environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Demonstrated ability to lead through change and drive continuous improvement Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate financial information clearly to stakeholders Strong organizational and prioritization skills Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner across functions Self-directed with a high level of accountability and ownership
