POSITION SUMMARY
Current Opening:
One Full-Time position. The Revenue Cycle Director provides both strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of all revenue cycle functions in a critical access hospital setting, including Patient Access, Coding, and Billing. This role is responsible for optimizing cash flow, minimizing revenue loss, and ensuring compliant, efficient processes across a lean, cross-trained team environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Define and execute revenue cycle strategy aligned with Powell Valley Healthcare's operational and financial goals Evaluate current systems, workflows, and staffing models; implement improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and collections. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations impacting professional billing, collections, and payer requirements. Partner with Compliance and Credentialing teams on regulatory, enrollment, and payer-specific matters affecting revenue Proactively identify revenue risks and advise leadership on corrective Serve as escalation point for complex payer, billing, and collection issues Develop strong working relationships with payers and health plans to improve resolution timelines and reimbursement outcomes Oversee revenue cycle reporting and analytics; translate data into actionable insights for leadership and operations Support external audits, payer reviews, and special reporting requirements as needed Prepare annual staffing plans and operating budgets for revenue cycle functions; manage departmental expenses within approved budgets Lead, mentor, and hold revenue cycle leadership and staff accountable for performance and outcomes Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in health information management, business administration, or accounting preferred. 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle leadership (CAH preferred) Demonstrated analytical skills needed to interpret and analyze statistical data and various accounting reports. Strong analytical, financial, and leadership skills Good verbal and written communication needed. Understanding of current Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS
Regularly lift or move objects weighing 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, stooping, bending, crouching, walking, standing, and working with equipment.
