Model Risk Oversight serves as a strategic function within Corporate Risk Management, leveraging a wide range of models to develop innovative client solutions and effectively manage financial and reputational risks through advanced quantitative methodologies. The Model Risk Oversight team is responsible for identifying, reviewing, and monitoring all models deployed across the organization. We are seeking applications for the Senior Specialist, focused on model validation and broader contributions to the Model Risk Oversight team. Candidates should possess strong quantitative skills.
Job responsibilities include:
Validating models, covering usage, documentation, conceptual soundness, data integrity, controls, and software. Delivering model validation reports and presenting findings to model owners and senior management. Collaborating with internal analysts and external consultants. Reviewing model performance monitoring and conducting annual model reviews. What you have
Required Qualifications:
An advanced degree in statistics, math, physics, engineering, or economics Proficiency in Python, SAS, R, and other statistical or programming languages
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in model validation Understanding of regulations and compliance related to digital assets, fraud, BSA, AML, and cybersecurity Understanding of model governance and related regulatory guidance Ph.D. in quantitative discipline (statistics, mathematics, physics, economics CFA, FRM, ACAMS and digital asset related certifications Experience working as a quant in the financial industry Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing Strong interpersonal skills #digitalassets What's in it for you At Schwab, you're empowered to shape your future.
