Job Description

We are seeking a Finance and Accounting Specialist to join a collaborative and highly respected design practice in Atlanta. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys a mix of financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, and strategic financial analysis. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help support the firm's financial health, operational performance, and long-term growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized, with experience in the AEC industry and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Role and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and reconcile selected balance sheet, payroll, and income statement journal entries.
  • Review general ledger accounts monthly to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget alignment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external tax and audit partners, providing required financial information and reports.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable and payroll functions as needed.
  • Forecast and monitor firmwide cash flow and working capital requirements.
  • Reconcile operating bank accounts and support treasury management activities.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and manage the annual operating budget.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, analysis, and presentations for executive leadership and the Board.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis related to strategic initiatives, office expansions, leases, insurance renewals, and business planning efforts.
  • Support ongoing process improvements and financial best practices across the organization. Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA preferred but not required.
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience within a professional services environment required; AEC industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, and account reconciliations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization.
