The Idaho State Police (ISP) has a current opening for a Financial Specialist Senior in Meridian. This position will perform a full range of advanced professional financial duties requiring the application of accounting and/or auditing theory, principles, and practices.

Independently manage, control, and monitor a wide range of diverse, advanced financial functions as a lead financial professional Develop and roll out training plans and correspondence to ISP districts for P-Cards, Travel, Procurement, Luma, Etc. Monitor LUMA changes and communicate changes and upcoming updates to the agency. Knowledge of budgets, accounting systems, prepare complex financial documents, plan and review financial operations, and handle difficult or sensitive financial matters Prepare and explain documents of findings and conclusions concerning the policies, procedures, operational methods, and financial position of the agency Modify, and implement financial-related systems or have a significant role in their development Update and Develop processes and procedures. Participate in developing policies and procedures for financial reporting systems and conduct research into the financial needs of the agency Apply strong background in information technology to analyze, research, and maintain financial data, develop financial documents, and resolve problems Analyze technical financial problems and provide professional assistance and advice concerning their solutions Manage a SharePoint page Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:
Good knowledge of: Accounting principles and practicesExperience:
Developing and preparing financial documents Using a computer to develop, analyze, and report on financial data Analyzing financial activities and recommending management action Training and preparing SOPs to be publishedPreferred Qualifications:
Experience using statewide Luma system Knowledge of state budget processes Good knowledge of supervisory practices Public Speaking SharePoint Creating training videosBenefits:
