$20•$20 per hour Wayne County Government Description The Student Intern 2•Finance is a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting/Finance intern eager to support the finance team. This role offers hands-on experience in financial reporting, data analysis, and daily accounting operations. The intern will gain valuable exposure to real-world financial processes while contributing to key business insights and decision-making.
Required Knowledge:
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables preferred) Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of computer hardware and software, working with databases, spreadsheets and word processing software, including data entry.
Required Tasks:
Assist with preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Reconcile financial records Help maintain general ledger and accounting documentation Analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Excel or similar tools Support audits and compliance activities as needed Perform administrative tasks related to finance operations Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
Currently enrolled in college pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
