Job Description

General Summary:
The Financial Support Specialist performs consumer fee assessments, insurance reviews, and a variety of billing functions.
Essential Functions:
Gathers initial demographic and financial information to conduct ability to pay (ATP) determinations. Provides and reviews annual ability to pay redeterminations. Conducts monthly reviews of Medicaid Spend Downs and all insurance policies. Update and maintain agency General Fund List. Assist in obtaining Medicaid Denial letters. Assist in obtaining prior authorizations. Perform and Assist with the Compliance Audit. Generate reports for staff or providers as needed. Initiating and monitoring payment plans. Assist in accounts receivable. Participates in agency committees as directed.
Other Functions:
Entry and maintenance of direct run locations. Maintain and update rate schedules as needed in EMR Provide support to Accounts Payable, Claim Adjudication, and Reimbursement Specialists as necessary. Employment Qualifications Education:
High school graduation or equivalent. Advanced course work in accounting or computer skills preferred.
Experience:
One year experience working in a related environment. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, Outlook) Prefer experience and training in billing or accounting related services.
