Job Description

Northern Human Services- Conway Mental Health Center is looking for a full-time Financial Specialist/Administrative Assistant. It is essential that this person can excel and work effectively in a team environment and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working practical knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Great benefits with working Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm for 35 hours per week (hours include a half hour unpaid lunch break). In the role of Administrative Assistant (15 hrs) , you will be integral to the smooth operation of our office, reporting directly to the Office Manager. Candidate must be highly organized, self-directed, able to multi-task and respectful of confidentiality. Duties include handling telephone switchboard, greeting consumers/visitors, computer data-entry, confirming insurance coverage, collecting money, cross-training with support staff and other administrative duties as needed. Your premium skills will enhance our administrative processes. We expect you to utilize your strong organizational and communication skills to support our team effectively and contribute to a productive work environment. This position will be required to float between our other Wolfeboro location when coverage is needed. In the role of a Financial Specialist (20 hrs) , you will provide accurate, professional representative payee services to clients from program assistance with application for needs such as Medicaid and annual benefit program qualifications. Duties include submitting completed applications in a timely manner for Medicaid, Social Security benefits, financial assistance with monthly payments, and providing solutions for challenging financial needs. The Financial Specialist will be the primary liaison between clients and partner agencies.

This position is responsible for talking to individuals and families about their choices and the programs that might best meet their needs, provide assistance in obtaining and retaining those benefits. The ability to effectively communicate and cooperate within and among all departments as well as with families, and various community members is critical. Expectations include demonstrating an understanding of the Agency's vision and mission through personal actions and through communication with staff.
