Master Records Specialist (Trustee) Shelby County Government - 3.6 Memphis, TN Job Details Full-time 21 hours ago Qualifications Electronic fund transfers Cash amount verification Customer service Electronic transaction processing High school diploma or GED Cash register operations Banking Full Job Description Position Summary This position works under general supervision to assist with the collection and processing of tax payments for Shelby County and other municipalities.
Pay Grade:
42 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of experience cashiering, customer service, payment processing (counting and sorting cash/distributing change), electronic funds posting, bank receipting/collections to include but not limited to lockbox and/or electronic posting; AND High school diploma or possess GED. Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal/written) preferred.
PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities Operates as a backup to the Head Cashier as needed. Works a flexible schedule adjusted to accommodate daily workflow. Inventories images of critical property tax documents. Assists with collecting and processing property taxes, including payments received in the mail, and over the internet, and counter transactions as needed. Images critical electronic documents to ensure the efficient operations of the office. Performs other duties as required or directed. KSA Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing). Ability to efficiently and accurately focus on specific tasks. Ability to remain calm and presentable in hectic situations. Ability to handle stressful situations and distractions. Skilled at operating standard office equipment. Skilled in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy. Ability to organize and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Special Requirements Must have reliable transportation. May be required to work at offsite locations during tax season. This means exemption from this policy is in effect for the following departments and positions: (1) Sheriff Deputy Patrol Officers, Deputy Jailers and Dispatchers, employed by the Sheriff Department, (2) Correction Officers employed by the Division of Corrections, (3) Firefighters, Paramedics and Dispatchers employed by the Shelby County Fire Department. The residency exemption for public safety/civil service employees does not include Appointed positions with Sheriff's Office, Division of Corrections or the Fire Department.
