Role Purpose The FP&A, Business Operations Support Specialist is a hybrid finance and operations systems role responsible for supporting core accounting and FP&A processes while acting as the dedicated FieldFX Super Admin for Metals NDT's order-to-cash platform.This role is designed to:
Strengthen financial discipline through consistent execution of accounting and FP&A responsibilities Provide timely financial insights and light modeling support Ensure real-time operational continuity by supporting FieldFX users across quoting, scheduling, dispatching, job tickets, and invoicing A key success factor is the ability to rapidly respond to operational needs (30-40% of the workload) while maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of financial processes. Primary Responsibilities FP&A & Accounting (60%-70%) Month-End Close Support (~25% of workload) Prepare journal entries and system interfaces within accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) Support timely and accurate close for multiple entities General Ledger & Reconciliations (~15%) Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations Ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency across entities Budgeting, Forecasting & Light Modeling (~10%) Maintain and update monthly budget vs. actual reports Support forecasting processes and ad hoc modeling requests Provide foundational data to enable management analysis Expense Reporting & Credit Card Administration (~15%) Support Concur reporting and expense tracking Provide spend visibility and reporting to leadership Billing & Payroll Support (~5%) Crosstrain and provide coverage for billing and payroll functions Assist with workload balancing and continuity in team operations Regulatory & Audit Support (~5%) Assist with tax compliance and reporting Support external audit requests and documentation FieldFX Super Admin / Business Operations Support (30%-40%) Serve as the primary FieldFX system administrator and internal support lead Provide immediate, real-time support to operations teams to prevent workflow disruption Support and troubleshoot across the full order-to-cash lifecycle , including: Quoting and estimating Project scheduling Dispatching Job ticket management Invoicing Maintain system integrity, configurations, and user access Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements within FieldFX workflows Partner closely with operations, billing, and finance teams to ensure seamless system usage Support FieldFX KPI tracking and reporting capabilities Key Success Factors Ability to balance structured financial responsibilities with urgent operational support needs Responsiveness and service-oriented mindset toward field and operations teams Strong attention to detail in accounting processes Systems aptitude with the ability to learn and manage an enterprise platform Continuous improvement mindset across financial and operational workflows Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field 2-5+ years of experience in FP&A, accounting, or business operations support Strong working knowledge of: General ledger accounting Month-end close processes Financial reporting and reconciliations Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, data analysis) Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with FieldFX or similar operational/ERP platforms Background supporting order-to-cash workflows Exposure to industrial services, oil & gas, or field services environments Experience with expense platforms (e.g., Concur) Familiarity with GAAP and audit processes Work Environment & Expectations On-site role at Abilene, TX headquarters (no remote option) Must be available during business hours to support real-time operational needs Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end close or critical operational periods Impact of the Role By successfully executing this role, the FP&A & FieldFX Business Operations Support Specialist will: Ensure accuracy and consistency in financial operations Enable uninterrupted execution of core business workflows through FieldFX Improve visibility into financial performance and operational metricsSimilar jobs in Abilene, TX
