Job Description

Introduction The Department of Corrections is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. Corrections employees have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others through careers in a variety of fields. The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Financial Specialist position. This position is based out of Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility in Chippewa Falls, WI. Position Summary This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records of Persons in Our Care monetary account balances for Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility (CVCTF). This position prepares and inputs Persons in Our Care related general fund checks, maintains Persons in Our Care general ledger account and miscellaneous accounts. It further processes disbursement orders for Persons in Our Care; prepares various financial reports including the submission of routine monthly, quarterly and annual reports and the performance of miscellaneous duties. Duties will also include utilization and maintenance of the institution Person in our Care Payroll module in the computerized system. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule/range 02-11 with a starting pay rate of $22.31 /hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.
