The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Financial Specialist Senior position, located at Chippewa Valley Correctional Treatment Facility in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Position Summary This position is responsible for the reconciliation, preparation, and processing of a wide variety of fiscal documents, including invoice vouchers, expense reports, direct pay vouchers, journal vouchers, and deposit vouchers. This position prepares various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports using the PeopleSoft/STAR interface. This position is responsible for processing Persons in our Care canteen purchases, returns and credits utilizing the contracted vendor canteen system. This position generates monthly Persons in our Care statements, maintains and updates the canteen menu and resolves discrepancies with the contracted canteen vendor and Persons in our Cares. Salary Information This position is in pay schedule/range 02-13 with a starting pay rate of $26.08/hour , plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required. Qualifications Applicants will be assessed on relevant experience, including the following: Modern bookkeeping, purchasing and procurement, policies and procedures, accounting & auditing practices and principles; working knowledge and usage of MS-Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) state accounting systems, and the Internet; ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and the public; and identify issues and follow through with problem solving techniques.
