Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Specialist to join our team. Corporate Guardian's Finance Specialist functions as a Guardian of Estate within Wisconsin's largest corporate guardianship agency. As a Guardian of Estate, you will manage a case load of individuals under guardianship, assisting individuals with decisions regarding their finances, assets, and benefits. Job Duties include:
developing budgets, paying bills, completing Medicaid and Social Security reviews, applying for benefits, working with internal agency team and external teams in support of the individual we serve, accurate data entry and financial management, completing annual accounting documents for the court The Finance Specialist must also work with various providers in support of the individual including the Veterans Administration, community supports, families, Managed Care Organizations, etc. May be required to conduct annual site visits and attend hearings in multiple counties. Responsibilities Will develop a working knowledge of Wisconsin State Statutes governing guardianship services including Ch. 51, 55, 54 and Administrative Code 85. Complete required continuing education as approved by the director and required by the State and share training information at monthly all staff meetings. Manage case load within time allotments and discuss any additional time spent with supervisor. Will be required to attend biweekly internal finance department meetings and case load review meetings with supervisor. Participate in community involvement committee or activity. Attend court for guardianship and protective placement hearings. Participate in on call rotation. 24/7 On call rotation is shared by all Corporate Guardians guardian representatives. Each guardian rep will take a turn to cover a week in the rotation.Expectations :
Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimum amount of oversight and direction. Represent Corporate Guardians in a professional and courteous manner to clients, team members and the community. Advocate for wards' best interests in a positive, solution driven manner and secure additional advocates as deemed appropriate by supervisor. Strong written and verbal communication. Proficiency in Office 365 environment Must pass Wisconsin Caregiver background check, including criminal records check for Wisconsin and previous states of residence. Possess awareness of community resources and funding options. Must be supportive of Corporate Guardians team members and assist in the coverage of other caseloads/duties when needed. Must maintain a positive/productive attitude and possess critical decision-making skills. Qualifications and Skills Possess a four-year bachelor's degree in related field and/or the combined equivalent of training, education and experience as deemed appropriate by director.
