Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to support a long-term contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced finance leader who brings extensive expertise in external reporting, statutory accounting, and complex financial disclosures within regulated environments. The position will play a key role in overseeing accurate reporting, strengthening compliance, and contributing to broader finance transformation initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with applicable reporting standards. Oversee SEC-related filings and support the development of clear, timely disclosures for external stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Manage statutory and financial reporting activities within a regulated environment, maintaining compliance with industry-specific accounting requirements. Analyze earnings-per-share calculations and other key reporting metrics to support reliable external financial communication. Partner with finance, accounting, and leadership teams to improve reporting processes and strengthen internal controls around financial data. Provide subject matter guidance on complex accounting matters, reporting obligations, and financial statement presentation. Support enterprise-wide finance transformation efforts by helping refine reporting workflows, governance, and documentation practices. Review reporting outputs for consistency and compliance, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce reporting risk. 15 or more years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or related finance leadership roles. At least 10 years of experience within insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry. Prior experience with a Big Four or nationally recognized audit or advisory firm is strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of financial reporting, statutory reporting, and accounting principles applicable to external reporting environments. Demonstrated experience preparing or overseeing SEC filings and annual financial reporting deliverables. Strong understanding of earnings-per-share reporting and related disclosure requirements. Background supporting finance transformation, large-scale change initiatives, or reporting process improvements.
