Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Deliver financial services such as Deposits, Loans, Investments, Insurance, and Auto products through multiple delivery channels in person, via phone or electronically within a sales environment. Create new members by opening new accounts and cross selling credit union products that fit their individual needs. Obtain necessary supporting documentation; review and analyze requests. Ensure an outstanding level of service to member and a level of support to credit union staff to enable them to deliver outstanding member service. All Credit Union positions are subject to audio and/or video surveillance. All computer and voice transmissions are subject to review by management personnel. All employees have access to confidential information - therefore each employee/each position accepts the responsibility to protect that information by following all Credit Union policies and procedures. As with all Credit Union positions, excellent attendance and respect for punctuality are essential to fulfilling the responsibilities and expectations of this position.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrate a "do it right the first time, every time" attitude toward all job tasks. Makes suggestions for improvement. Uses prevention and process improvement techniques. Always promote teamwork and a positive attitude with co-workers. Greet all visitors/members with a smile, introduce yourself and either assist them with their need or direct them to the appropriate person. Call them by name whenever possible. Strive to exceed established service quality goals. Open new accounts, identifies and cross-sells other credit union products. Cross-sell credit union products and services, meeting or exceeding specific sales goals set forth by management. . Respond to each situation to increase the total relationship with every member. Develop independent judgment in making decisions on loan applications. Understand and utilizes current guidelines and N.C.U.A. rules and regulations. Ensure completeness and accuracy of information. Demonstrate knowledge of current policies and guidelines through sound loan decisions. Understand and demonstrate knowledge of D.M.V. process. Guide members through this process in order to perfect all D.M.V. liens quickly and accurately. Prepare auto appraisal and D.M.V. documents as required. Negotiate final disbursement with the member and disburse loan proceeds. Inform members of approvals / declines or modifications. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with various members dealing with complex processes as well as issues of a highly personal or delicate nature. Promote Credit Union business through direct or indirect member contact. Know, understand and comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures as stipulated by the federal government's Bank Secrecy Act, the Anti-Laundering Money Act, the USA Patriot Act, Privacy Act and UnderstandingOFAC. 20.
Consistently offer applicable insurance product(s). 21. Underwriting analysis with funding approval - level to be determined 22. Other related duties as assigned.INDIRECT LENDING
Financial Service Officers (1 or 2) may be called upon to enhance and/or develop business relationships with area car dealerships.These duties would typically include:
1. Establishing new dealer relationships 2. Managing ongoing dealer relationships 3. Auditing and funding sales purchase contracts 4. Contacting dealers regarding matters of compliance 5. Creating and administering special promotionsMINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS
:EDUCATION
: Good reading, writing, math and P.C. skills. Loan underwriting training helpful; business, accounting, psychology, sociology courses helpful.EXPERIENCE
: Two years experience in automated office environment preferred. Previous lending experience preferred. Sales experience in a financial institution environment preferred. Good decision making ability with sound judgment demonstrated. .SKILLS & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Excellent oral communication skills; excellent listening skills. Problem-solving skills required. Must be flexible, self-motivated, tactful and assertive. Able to work with interruptions in a fast-paced environment; 30 wpm typing, 10 key by touch, PC-literate in Windows applications. Must understand and demonstrate the importance of good customer service, team work and positive attitude.CONTACTS
