As a Market Director, you play a central role in strengthening our community presence and elevating the client experience. Our Bankers are the face of our brand, and your leadership ensures they deliver the personalized, consultative service that truly sets us apart. In this market, you will cultivate a professional, team‑oriented environment where individuals are encouraged to grow both personally and professionally. This role blends strong commercial banking expertise with the confidence and presence of a sales professional. At the same time, you inspire your team through collaboration, coaching, and a commitment to excellence. Your ability to motivate and guide others is essential to driving performance, deepening client relationships, and supporting the long‑term success of the Central Pinellas Market. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Delivers value to clients by personally generating profitable banking business, and by leading personal and commercial groups in developing/achieving sales and profitability goals for an assigned Market or Office. The scope includes increasing net interest margin, deposit and loan pricing, non-interest income generation that contribute to overall bank profitability goals.
  • Demonstrates expert ability and knowledge in leading and participating in sales calls in support of commercial and personal banking.
  • Proven experience providing full oversight to Market environment, profitability and growth focusing on identifying Market opportunities, recruiting talent and enhancing The Bank of Tampa brand value.
  • Demonstrated expert ability to proactively lead the community banking efforts within an assigned Market by identifying and developing strong referral relationships and actively participating in civic, professional and non-profit organizations.
  • Communicates with impact and enthusiasm in formal and informal settings with audiences such as corporate leadership, project leadership, senior loan committee, and in communicating corporate objectives to staff.
  • Expert understanding of how to maintain credit quality of loan portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, as well as hiring, coaching and developing established performance management standards. This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Minimum Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in commercial lending.
  • Proven experience in commercial or business banking with a portfolio of clients $1 million+ in revenue.
  • Demonstrated credit skills
  • An existing member of, or willing to become part of, associations aligned with our client niche—such as local Chambers of Commerce, legal and medical professional groups, and community organizations. Membership and participation will be fully supported and sponsored by The Bank of Tampa.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license as local travel will be required. Preferred Qualifications
  • 4•year Undergraduate Degree (e.
g., BS or BA) preferably with a business or finance focus or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Formal credit training and underwriting experience
