Position Summary:
The BSA/AML Officer administers the Credit Union's BSA/AML and OFAC compliance programs and provides independent oversight of financial crime risk. This role is supported by the Financial Crime Risk Analyst, who assists with BSA/AML risk assessment, analytics, and governance activities under a dotted‑line reporting relationship. Duties must be accomplished in compliance with federal and state laws and in accordance with the credit union's policies and procedures and with constant attention to Alero's creed, vision, mission and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Own and administer the BSA/AML and OFAC programs. Maintain the BSA/AML Risk Assessment. Oversee SAR, CTR, and customer due diligence requirements. Manage transaction monitoring and sanctions governance. Leverage the Financial Crime Risk Analyst for BSA/AML risk analytics, trend analysis, and assessment support. Review and approve BSA/AML risk‑related outputs produced by the Financial Crime Risk Analyst. Coordinate BSA/AML exams, audits, and issue remediation. Escalate material BSA/AML risks to executive management and the Board. Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree required; CAMS or equivalent certification strongly preferred. 5-10 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of BSA/AML laws, OFAC regulations, and FFIEC guidance. Experience managing BSA/AML exams and regulatory interactions.
