In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive BSA/AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and OFAC programs, fostering a culture of compliance across all credit union operations. Your expertise will drive proactive detection and prevention of fraud, money laundering, and other illicit activities, while ensuring the organization meets all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Acts as the Credit Union's Bank Secrecy Officer. Monitor and review BSA/AML software alerts for fraud notifications and suspicious activity, research and investigating as needed. Oversee internal audits and reviews related to BSA/AML processes, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions promptly. Manage the preparation and submission of regulatory reports such as SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) and CTRs (Currency Transaction Reports), ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments related to financial crimes, including fraud prevention and detection strategies aligned with banking standards. Provide training and guidance on compliance management systems utilizing financial software tools to ensure staff awareness and adherence. Proven experience in banking or financial services with a strong focus on BSA/AML compliance management. Extensive knowledge of BSA/AML regulatory requirements, internal audits, and exams. Familiar with writing policies and procedures related to BSA/AML programs and Customer Identification Policies. Familiarity with fraud prevention techniques Prior experience leading compliance teams within a regulated environment with a track record of successful audit outcomes. Strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication abilities to effectively collaborate across departments and present findings clearly.
