Full Job Description Prior Authorization Clerk/ Referral Support Classification:
Non-exempt Reports to:
Office Manager Job Description Summary/ Objective:
The Prior Authorization Clerk is responsible for all duties regarding prior authorizations and support for referral processing.
Essential Functions:
Administrative Duties:
Using computer applications (EHR, Microsoft Office, and Internet) Understanding health insurance policies pertaining to prior authorizations Perform basic direct referrals Familiar with medication formularies and requirements

Work Environment:
Physical Demands:
May be required to lift or move up to 15lbs Use of their hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls
Position Type/Expected Work Hours :
This is a full time position, working 40 hours per week. Scheduled hours will be 8am-5pm Mon-Friday.
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent qualification Advanced understanding of medical terminology and administration processes Proficiency in EHR/EMR programs and Microsoft office
