Prior Authorization Specialist

Prior Authorization Specialist Must have: Positive outlook Outgoing personality Excellent communication Patient and customer service skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize Attention to detail Time management skills Respect for sensitive patient information High level of integrity Experience reading and interpreting payer contracts 2 years previous medical office experience at minimum 2 years prior experience with medical insurance verification and authorizations In-depth knowledge and ability to navigate payer portals and Availity Speak, write, and read English proficiently.

Ideal candidate will be bilingual:

English and Spanish.

Responsibilities include:

Insurance verifications Insurance authorization request submissions Financial counseling to patients prior to appointments and surgery Documentation of patient financial responsibility Medical records management Collecting payments such as copays and coinsurances, when needed Greeting and welcoming patients and visitors Checking patients in and out for appointments, as needed Scheduling patients for appointments and surgeries Answering phone calls and questions or routing appropriately, as needed Additional opportunities to learn and grow are available to the right candidates!
