SECTIONSThe Physicians Clinic of Iowa is seeking a Business Office Clerk to work part time in our Central Business Office with Medical Group Solutions. Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Serve as a switchboard operator, effectively assessing patient needs and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel for assistanceCoordinate the release of requested records to insurance companies for documents outside the scope of the medical records department.

Receive, sort, and process incoming mail and insurance claim forms, ensuring all necessary reports and documentation are accurately attachedPrepare and copy Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for the submission of secondary insurance claims.

Open and distribute incoming patient account mail to the appropriate team members.

Process and post insurance refund requests in accordance with departmental guidelines and payer policies.
Qualifications:
Experience working in a medical (or other) office performing similar functions is a plus. Proficiency (or ability to become proficient) in computer systems.

Strong Commitment to patient care and teamwork.

Excellent communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality.

Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
