Job Description

Overview At Mangino Dental, we believe every patient and every team member should feel genuinely cared for. Our team takes pride in supporting one another and making each day meaningful. As our Dental Benefits Coordinator, you'll be a friendly face and trusted guide who helps patients understand their treatment and insurance coverage. Primary responsibility - managing the entire dental insurance claims process at Mangino Dental. This includes verifying patient eligibility, ensuring accurate dental coding, submitting claims, following up on unpaid claims, and resolving discrepancies with insurance providers to ensure timely payment. The "Requirements" section below is the most important part of the job description. Anyone can learn the job duties, but a positive temperament cannot be taught. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude that supports reliability, teamwork and growth.
Key Performing Tasks:
Verifying insurance and eligibility: Confirming that patients have active dental insurance coverage before services are rendered.
Accurate coding and submission:
Ensuring that claims are coded correctly using ADA codes and all necessary documentation and films are submitted accurately and on time.
Claims follow-up:
Tracking submitted claims, following up on any denials or rejections, and resubmitting claims as needed.
Accounts Receivable management:
Posting payments from insurance companies, making adjustments, and maintaining accurate patient ledgers to ensure the practice gets paid for services.
Communication:
Liaising with insurance companies, patients, and the dental office staff to resolve issues and answer questions about claims.
Reporting:
Monitoring and reporting on claims processing status, narratives, denial rates, and overall financial performance to the office manager and/or dentist.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Technical skills: Proficiency with dental practice management software (like Dentrix or EagleSoft) and familiarity with ADA coding.
Knowledge:
A strong understanding of dental terminology, dental insurance plans, and the claims submission process.
Soft skills:
Attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are critical for success.
Experience:
Previous experience in a dental office or in medical/dental billing is preferred but not required.
Certifications:
None.

Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
