Job Description

Claims Administrator - Safety and Compliance Sweet Express is searching for a Claims Administrator with experience working with truck accident, injury and freight claims for an over-the-road motor carrier in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Responsible for overseeing the process of identifying, measuring and managing insurable risks. This position mitigates the Company's exposure to risk by coordinating all claims and serves as a liaison for operations to insurance companies and agencies. Sweet Express is a family company and provides a variety of health and welfare benefit options starting on the first of the month after the date of hire. This position has a general schedule of Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm. The Claims Administrator will... Take initial claims notices including gathering all necessary information and entering it into the driver management system Handles claims and loss control activities including coordinating with other departments and outside entities while handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately Resolves claims at least possible cost to company through risk transfer techniques Maintains good relationships with clear and timely communication with third party service providers including brokers, insurers and vendors Acts in compliance with insurance procedures and related legal requirements Regularly reviews results to meet expectations for timely and cost-effective closure of claims Keep abreast of new legislation, FMCSA policy, best practices Productively and accurately manage multiple tasks and move open projects forward Significant attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills required to prepare documents and communicate with third party claimants Ability to negotiate settlements and accurately present expenses, bills, discounts, and rates. Responsible to negotiate areas of dispute, follow-up with vendors on past due claims, and address charge back issues ensuring the most positive resolution for the company Conflict management skills including the ability to clearly articulate decisions and identify necessary outcomes Manage difficult situations partnering with others when necessary to achieve the best possible outcomes Respond to inquiries complaints and concerns regarding claims and claims handling procedures Learn and maintain working knowledge of policies, procedures and systems necessary to this role The Claims Administrator will possess... Experience in Transportation and Logistics preferred Process Management skills Self- directed with significant attention to detail & organizational skills MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and experience with Mcleod preferred Knowledge of FMCSA regulations Effective decision-making skills and ability to present potential solutions and act on feedback
