Prior Authorization Specialist

Job Description:

Healthwise Pharmacy is seeking an experienced prior authorization specilaist to assist with our specialty referrals. Applicants should have excellent time management, be able to multi-task, critically think and serve as a case manager for our often lifelong patients. Applicant will be our primary contact with referral sources. Should have excellent oral and written communication.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous infusion experience, insurance, billing, GI or Neuro experience a plus.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills
• Self-directed, motivated and autonomous
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Certifications:

• IgCN

CRNI Responsibilities:

• Act as a Prior Authorization Specialist for our specialty infusion patients.
• Coordinate with billing company, insurance plans, and physicians to guarantee continuous care of specialty infusion patients. This includes making sure that all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted, orders and authorizations are renewed as needed, and any other needs of insurance carriers.
• Work with intake team to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Act as a Prior Authorization Specialist for our specialty infusion nursing team to schedule patient infusion appointments.
• Act as a liasion between referral sources and the pharmacy staff.
