Come put those skills to work in a great office environment with no nights and weekends! We are seeking a Prior Authorization Specialist based out of our Manchester, NH office. As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you'll be responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for all procedural orders by completing the authorization process with all insurance payers and copay assistance programs which includes ophthalmic medication and surgical procedures. Our ideal candidate will thrive in telephone communication, be extremely detail-oriented, adapt to things quickly, and have a willingness to learn and grow. Once fully trained (minimum of 6 months), you'll have the opportunity to cross train in other areas of the office and potential for a hybrid schedule. Apply now to start this amazing career opportunity! As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will: Initiate and manage prior authorization requests for ophthalmic treatments and medications. Gather necessary medical documentation and clinical information to support authorization request and ensure all authorization forms are completed accurately and submitted timely. Communicate with insurance companies to advocate for timely approval of authorization requests and collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain required documentation and clinical justification. Maintain detailed records, ensure compliance with insurance regulations and stay updated on insurance industry trends, policies and changes affecting prior authorizations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and develop and implement processes for reviewing the provider schedules for financial arrangements and prior authorizations. Research and communicate with patients regarding insurance benefits and follow up on patient pre-pay balances and self-pay patients. You will need to have the following: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 1-2 years in medical related field. 1-2 years of medical prior authorization experience preferred. Experience in Ophthalmology a plus. Certification in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration is preferred but not required. Knowledge of medical terminology, strong understanding of insurance verification, authorization guidelines and medical practices. Superb time management and accuracy skills. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written as well as attention to detail skills. Ability to display positive rapport, displaying tact and courteous professionalism with coworkers, staff, supervisors, and physicians and patients. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and prior authorization software preferred.
