Job Description
Prior Authorization Specialist needed for a large, busy Surgical Practice. Full time with benefits. Position is in office. Candidate must be detail oriented to process incoming referrals and outgoing surgical prior authorization requests timely. Optimal candidate will be able to work independently and have excellent time management & efficiency skills, due to fast pace job. Good communication, both verbal and written, and ability to maintain positive relationships with patients, insurance companies and co-workers is a must. Candidate will consult with physicians, nurses, staff as well as the patients throughout the referral process. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes and a working understanding of medical terminology is preferred. Familiarity of EMR systems needed, knowledge of Athena a plus. Candidate must have a strong working familiarity and be able to use Microsoft Teams, One Note, Share Point and Excel. Ideal candidate must have a team player mentality.
