As a Claims Representative Trainee, you will assure delivery of "best in class" customer service and contribute to the quality of our claims handling, while helping our customers get back on the road after an accident. You will need excellent problem solving and organizational skills to gather details, investigate accidents, and manage the claims process. Every day is different as you work to resolve problems, and we ask that you be willing to work hard in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. It is also expected this person exhibit strong interpersonal skills with other team members, while providing strong contributions to overall company and claims department success. Responsibilities Provides first line customer service contact for claims reporting activity. Utilizes Claims Call Center Best Practices in all activities Creates loss reports by securing information from policyholders, claimants, agents, or other parties. Establishes the claim by direct entry of claim data via computerized claims systems. Helps determines liability (who's at fault for the damages) Interviews customers, claimants, and witnesses Partners with appraisers/estimators to manage vehicle repairs Negotiates with customers and other insurance carriers Implements and upholds all policies of Traders along with the willingness to work hard in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment Ensures all operations are consistent with the stated mission and direction set forth by Traders Demonstrated ownership attitude with the ability to be analytical and make accurate decisions Excellent customer service and negotiating skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Personal computer literate with proficiency in the use of Word and Excel We're open to motivated new college graduates who are interested in starting a career in the insurance claims field. A high school diploma is required, along with some experience in retail or customer service—especially in fast-paced environments. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain an Adjuster license in required states. We also welcome candidates with prior claims experience. Compensation may be adjusted based on relevant experience and qualifications.
