Job Description
Mechanical Claims Specialist Overview Are you a skilled automotive technician ready to shift gears in your career? Our client is seeking a Mechanical Claims Specialist to join their growing customer support team. In this role, you'll transition from the physical demands of the shop floor to a professional office or remote environment, where you'll leverage your automotive expertise to evaluate and process mechanical claims. Key Responsibilities Utilize your knowledge of vehicle mechanics to evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical claims accurately and efficiently Communicate with vehicle contract holders, repair facilities, and other stakeholders via phone and email Provide excellent customer service while resolving claim-related questions and concerns Listen actively and demonstrate empathy to ensure a positive customer experience Follow established processes and document all claim activity in company systems Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent, fair, and accurate claim outcomes Role Overview This position supports incoming calls from dealerships and vehicle owners regarding mechanical claims.
Primary call types include:
Dealership inquiries: Reviewing repair needs and determining warranty coverage based on established guidelines Customer inquiries (claim decisions): Explaining why a claim was approved or denied Customer inquiries (next steps): Guiding customers through the process to obtain diagnostics, quotes, and claim submission You will apply your mechanical expertise to understand vehicle issues and clearly communicate decisions and next steps. Qualifications Minimum of 3+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or in a related field Strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences Excellent verbal communication skills Customer service experience, including handling complex or escalated situations Comfortable using multiple systems, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, etc.) Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, call center environment High school diploma or GED required ASE certification is a plus Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus Additional Requirements Willingness to travel for initial 2-week onboarding training Availability to work occasional Saturdays Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet workspace for remote or hybrid work Preferred Experience Familiarity with labor guide systems (e.g., AllData) Experience with automotive scan tools Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
