Description:
Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. is one of the area's largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups. In support of high-quality patient care, we are currently seeking an experienced Medical Authorization/Surgical Precertification Specialist with Epic experience to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least two years' experience in medical authorization/precertification for either surgical cases, MRIs, or injections and must possess the ability to work independently, be a quick learner, possess strong attention to detail, have a strong work ethic with impeccable attendance and reliability, and the desire to be part of a great team. Functions of the job include, but may not be limited to: Communicate with insurance companies to provide information necessary to obtain prior authorizations. Access online insurance portals to enter and obtain prior authorizations. Gather appropriate demographic and insurance related details. Communicate with physicians regarding peer-to-peer reviews for insurance companies. Communicate with patients and staff in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner. Answer questions regarding patient's care with outside organizations. Verify patient demographic and eligibility information and relay changes to appropriate staff. Other duties as assigned. PM22
Requirements:
Requirements of this position include, but may not be limited to: High School Diploma or GED Two years medical prior orthopedic authorization experience preferred. Previous experience with Epic EMR systems. A proven track record of being able to handle multiple priorities in a pro-active manner. Ability to stay current in an automated work que with assigned cases. Clear and concise documentation skills. Superior written, oral communication, and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task. Able to follow written and verbal directions. Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within a team.
