Active Illinois Pharmacy Technician License About the Role MedOp Solutions is hiring a Prior Authorization Specialist to support one of our healthcare clients in the Schaumburg area. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of remote work while maintaining in-person collaboration two days per week. In this position, you'll work closely with the Benefits Verification Team to ensure patients have timely access to prescribed therapies. You'll play a critical role in navigating insurance requirements, coordinating with provider offices, and managing prior authorization requests from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and prescriptions . Review and interpret prescriptions and medical policies to determine authorization requirements. Contact physician offices to obtain required clinical documentation . Initiate prior authorizations with insurance plans and follow up on pending requests within 48 hours . Manage re-authorizations and track expiring approvals to ensure continuity of care. Document all activity accurately and maintain compliance with internal and payer guidelines. What You Bring Experience working with major medical insurance and pharmacy benefits . Working knowledge of HCPC (J-Codes) and ICD-10 diagnosis codes . Strong ability to read prescriptions and translate them into authorization requests. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
