Aya Healthcare has a contract-opportunity for an experienced Authorization Specialist to support a 13-week assignment with a dynamic healthcare facility in West Valley, UT.

1-2 weeks Summary of Authorization Specialist The Authorization team within the Central Business Office, focuses specifically on obtaining prior authorizations and verifying insurance requirements for home health patients. The specialist works in Epic and payer portals to submit authorization requests, follow up with insurance companies, and ensure all services meet coverage criteria prior to care delivery. Responsibilities include verifying eligibility and benefits, contacting payers for authorization approvals, and coordinating with internal teams to secure required documentation. This role is task-focused and operational, centered on authorization workflows rather than complex billing or claim resolution. Requirements forAuthorization Specialist:
2-3+ years of experience in healthcare authorizations, eligibility, or benefits verification Experience obtaining authorizations for home health patients Proficiency in Epic and experience with payer portals Strong understanding of insurance requirements, authorization workflows, and coverage criteria Experience contacting payers to secure authorizations and verify requirements Ability to accurately verify eligibility, benefits, and prior authorization needs Ability to work independently in a task-driven, repetitive workflow environment Experience in a Central Business Office or shared services environment Experience supporting home health or hospice service lines Experience working with Utah-based or multi-state payer networks Familiarity with high-volume authorization queues or intake workflows Experience coordinating with clinical teams for documentation requirement Please note: Candidates without Epic (EMR) experience will not be accepted.
