This energetic position offers the opportunity to work closely with medical offices, insurance providers, and patients to verify coverage, handle medical records, and facilitate accurate billing. Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits efficiently using managed care protocols Assist with insurance claims processing, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement Maintain and organize medical records while adhering to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations for patient privacy Collaborate with medical offices to facilitate appointment scheduling and insurance verification prior to patient visits Handle inquiries related to insurance benefits, coverage limitations, and claim statuses with professionalism and clarity Support medical coding efforts by accurately assigning appropriate codes for procedures and diagnoses Ensure compliance with all office policies related to medical terminology, medical records management, and insurance documentation Skills Proven experience in managed care environments with a solid understanding of insurance verification processes Strong background in medical office operations, including familiarity with medical terminology and medical records management Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient information at all times Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems for accurate billing purposes Experience working in dental or general medical offices is a plus Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in handling medical documentation and insurance claims Effective communication skills to liaise confidently between patients, providers, and insurance companies This role offers a vibrant environment where your expertise will directly impact patient satisfaction and operational efficiency.
