Insurance Billing - Optometry

We are looking for someone to join our Optometry practice who is enthusiastic and energetic. Candidate will be responsible for billing and collection of vision and medical insurance claims ensuring that claims are processed and paid in accordance with regulated rates and current contracts. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system is very important.

Required Skills:

• Understand coinsurance, co-pays and deductible for commercial insurance billing Ability to communicate with various insurance payers Thorough understanding of medical billing, collections and payment posting Working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes, HCFA 1500 claim forms, HIPAA, insurance benefits and appeal processes. Responsible use of confidential information Responsibilities•: Process primary and secondary claims to insurance carriers Timely follow up on insurance claim status Reading and interpreting an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) Identify billing errors, coding errors, and timely rebilling of claims Communicating with payers by phone, payer portal, and appeals for proper payment on claims Reconciling of processed payments to ensure accuracy. Payment posting for all insurance plans
