Summary:
The Commercial Lines Insurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery, growth, and profitability of the commercial insurance portfolio while ensuring exceptional client service and operational excellence. This role leads and develops the commercial service team, maintains strong client and carrier relationships, and supports sales and retention strategies. The Manager serves as a subject matter expert across commercial lines coverages and ensures compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage the commercial lines service team to ensure high-quality client service and consistent execution of deliverables Maintain overall accountability for client relationships, including retention, satisfaction, and ongoing coverage optimization Oversee renewal processes, coverage reviews, policy placements, and endorsements across commercial lines (e.g., General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella) Partner with producers and leadership to support new business development, account expansion, and revenue growth initiatives Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with carrier partners to secure optimal coverage solutions for clients Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert, providing guidance on complex risks, coverage structures, and market trends Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, carrier guidelines, and internal operational standards Monitor workflows, service timelines, and performance metrics to drive efficiency and continuous improvement Support training and development initiatives to enhance team technical knowledge and client-facing capabilities Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams on client communications, reporting, and strategic initiatives Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience 10+ years of commercial lines insurance experience, including account management and/or underwriting exposure Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and market dynamics Active insurance license required (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe) Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC preferred Skills & Competencies Proven leadership, coaching, and team development abilities Excellent client relationship management and communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities Proficiency in agency management systems and Microsoft Office applications The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
