Job Description

This is a player-coach role -ideal for someone who enjoys underwriting complex risks while leading a team and building strong broker relationships. This role will be hybrid in Phoenix, AZ.
What You'll Do:
Underwrite and manage large, complex new business accounts while overseeing day-to-day team activity Lead and develop a team of underwriters, driving consistency and performance Partner closely with brokers to grow new business and strengthen key relationships Set and refine underwriting guidelines to balance growth, risk, and profitability Deliver thoughtful, creative underwriting solutions to win and retain business Review escalated decisions and ensure alignment with overall underwriting strategy
What You Bring:
P&C underwriting experience Proven ability to act as a player-coach (hands-on underwriting + leadership) Strong track record of broker engagement and new business production Solid underwriting judgment with a risk-aware, growth-oriented mindset Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Active P&C license (AZ preferred)
