We are looking for a full-time Senior SBA Underwriter to join Summit State Bank team at our Small Business Lending Office in Roseville, CA. This position analyzes commercial and personal credit information from borrowers and guarantors to determine risk involved in lending money to new and existing small business, commercial real estate, and construction clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review loan submissions for adequacy of information and financials, to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards. Underwrite loan requests up to $20MM of low to high complexity by preparing credit authorizations and detailed credit analysis conforming to and in compliance with Summit State Bank loan underwriting standards. Perform and document risk assessment on loan requests. Verify accuracy of information provided. Work directly with Lenders/Relationship Managers and, when needed, Borrowers to discuss issues, ask questions and make financial and covenant recommendations as necessary. Review and analyze appraisal assumptions and methodologies; incorporate appraisal information into Bank credit authorization. Evaluate and verify all collateral on all secured loans and prepare reports of findings. Work closely with all parties to assist in timely processing, credit approval, and closing of loan requests. Work closely with Loan Ops Department to ensure procedures are followed in the closing and funding of the loans. Perform financial analysis for financial covenant testing and annual term loan reviews. Recommend and draft one-time and permanent waivers for RM and/or Managing Underwriter review. Clear ticklers, and draft default letters for RM and/or Managing Underwriter review. Construction Lending - o Perform all aspects of General Contractor analysis and qualification o Create and maintain budget spreadsheets o Coordinate draw funding with Loan Ops staff Work independently with little or no oversight on low to moderately complex duties. Work closely with Underwriting Manager and Chief Credit Officer on highly complex issues. Position is considered experienced and may be expected to provide training, coaching and mentoring. Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year college or university and a minimum of six years of commercial underwriting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Pay Range:
