Job Description

Workers' Compensation Practice Lead Location:
San Francisco (In-Office)
Salary:
$160K - $200K base Our client, a high-growth, technology-driven commercial insurance platform, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Practice Lead to build and scale a critical line of business. With strong inbound demand and a modern, AI-enabled operating model, the firm is focused on improving how complex risks are placed and serviced. This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of the workers' compensation function and turn it into a repeatable, scalable engine within a fast-moving organization. What You'll Do Build and manage relationships with carriers, MGAs, and wholesalers across workers' compensation Own submission quality and underwriting standards to improve quote and bind rates Structure and place complex or hard-to-place workers' comp risks across industries Develop market strategy and routing logic by class, state, and risk profile Partner closely with sales, operations, and leadership to drive conversion and execution Create internal playbooks and train teams on best practices Help implement systems and workflows to scale workers' comp placement efficiently What We're Looking For Strong background in workers' compensation from a brokerage, wholesaler, or underwriting environment Deep understanding of class codes, payroll, loss runs, experience mods, and underwriting fundamentals Proven ability to place complex or challenging risks across multiple markets Established relationships with carriers, MGAs, and specialty markets Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Builder mindset with strong ownership and a hands-on approach Why Join Our Client?
