The Vertical Wholesaler is responsible for driving revenue growth, carrier relationships, and production performance within an assigned specialty insurance vertical at DXG. This role owns production outcomes new business, retention, and profitability while leveraging Account Executives and operational support to ensure speed, simplicity and specialization. The Vertical Wholesaler is both a market-facing producer and an internal leader, setting standards for execution, underwriting quality, and agency engagement within their vertical. Primary Duties:
Grow net commissions within the assigned vertical Develop and deepen agency partner relationships Maintain strong carrier and underwriting partnerships Drive high-quality submissions and strong conversion rates Build a scalable, repeatable production engine within the vertical Own net revenue (net commissions) growth for the vertical Drive new business production and expansion of existing accounts Manage pipeline health, prioritization, and conversion Identify cross-sell opportunities in partnership with other DXG verticals Agency & Relationship Management Build and maintain trusted relationships with agency partners Serve as a strategic resource to agencies within the vertical Educate agencies on underwriting appetite, positioning, and best practices Set clear expectations around submission quality and timelines Carrier & Underwriting Relationships Maintain strong working relationships with carrier and underwriting partners Align submissions with carrier appetite and guidelines Advocate for agencies and accounts when appropriate Partner with leadership to expand carrier capacity and programs Team Leadership & Leverage Work closely with Account Executives to ensure efficient execution Delegate transactional work appropriately to maximize selling time Provide guidance and feedback to AEs on submission quality and workflow Contribute to training and development within the vertical Quality, Compliance & Risk Management Ensure submissions meet DXG standards for completeness and accuracy Uphold compliance, documentation, and E&O prevention practices Identify and escalate risks or systemic issues proactively Balance growth objectives with underwriting discipline Process & Compounding Work Help develop vertical-specific playbooks, guidelines, and workflows Identify opportunities to improve speed, quality, and scalability Contribute to repeatable processes that reduce rework and friction Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across DXG Requirements:
5+ years of experience in insurance production, wholesale brokerage, or MGA environments Proven ability to grow and manage a book of business Strong understanding of underwriting processes and carrier dynamics Excellent relationship management and communication skills Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment Experience in a specialty insurance vertical (e.g., Work Comp, Exec, Cyber, Surety) Established agency or market relationships within the vertical Insurance designation(s) such as CPCU, ARM, or equivalent Operates with urgency and accountability Prioritizes quality and discipline alongside growth Delegates effectively to enable scale Communicates clearly and professionally Focuses on compounding work, not just transactions Physical Requirements:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, walking, finger dexterity, reaching, stooping, and grasping functions. Frequent sitting, standing, and repetitive motion activities are also required. Must be able to read print and computer-based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted indoors with controlled degrees of temperatures. Mental Requirements:
The occupant of this position must be able to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure. The position requires adaptability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
