Job Description Accountants and Miscellaneous Insurance Underwriter Job Summary Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountants and Miscellaneous Insurance Underwriter to join a well-established, family-owned organization with decades of success in the industry. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, low-turnover environment where autonomy and professional growth are highly valued. As an underwriter, you will play a key role in assessing risks, processing applications, and managing professional lines accounts, including those in the accountant niche.
Compensation Package Salary Range :
$65,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
Incentives :
Annual performance-based bonus and yearly salary review/raise
Benefits :
Competitive benefits package, 401(k), paid time off, professional development opportunities, etc. Responsibilities Act as the program administrator for the carrier, managing professional lines accounts, including those in the accountant niche. Review applications, assess risks, and process quotes, endorsements, and policy issuances. Collaborate with multiple independent agents to provide exceptional customer service and sales support. Negotiate with carriers to secure optimal terms and pricing. Quote and bind new and renewal business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. Utilize proprietary software to manage underwriting processes efficiently.
Qualifications/Requirements Licensure/Designations :
Property & Casualty (P&C) license is not required.
Experience :
Open to candidates with varying levels of experience, including those transitioning from personal lines to professional lines. Professional lines experience is preferred.
Account Expertise :
Familiarity with professional lines, particularly Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance, is highly desirable.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in using proprietary systems and the ability to adapt to new software.
Soft Skills :
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently without micromanagement. #LI-BH1
