Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Underwriting Associate to join our growing Merchant Services team. This position is responsible for reviewing consumer finance applications, verifying applicant information, assessing risk, and making credit recommendations in accordance with company credit policy. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with merchants, customers, and internal team members. This role provides an excellent opportunity for advancement into a senior underwriting position. Key Responsibilities Review and evaluate consumer finance applications. Analyze credit reports, income documentation, and supporting information. Verify employment, income, residency, and other application data. Identify potential fraud indicators and documentation discrepancies. Assess applicant repayment ability and overall creditworthiness. Make approval, counteroffer, stipulation, or decline recommendations. Communicate with merchants regarding application status and required documentation. Maintain accurate underwriting notes and loan files. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Work closely with senior underwriters and management on risk-related decisions. Assist with portfolio reviews and quality control initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Previous underwriting, banking or lending experience. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to review and interpret financial information. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Pay:
$58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
