Job Description

Bridge Specialty Group is seeking an Underwriter to join our growing team in Clinton, MS! As an Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the department by reviewing insurance applications to evaluate, classify, and rate individuals and groups for insurance in support of the organization's strategic objectives.
How You Will Contribute:
Examine applications, inspection reports, and insurance maps to determine risk based on financial standing, age, occupation, accident history, and property value/condition. Review company records to assess insurance in force on individual or related risks and evaluate potential losses from catastrophes or over‑insurance. Underwrite or broker risks by obtaining required information, completing applications, confirming quotes and binders in writing, issuing accurate policies promptly, making state filings, and ensuring taxes are paid per state regulations. Review, analyze, and underwrite risks submitted by Producers; rate submissions; assess exposures for new and renewal business; issue indications, quotes, and binders; and use inspection companies for additional information or to explain underwriting policies. Ensure required forms are accurately coded and utilized. Service and maintain existing business while managing priorities effectively. Provide guidance and training to processors and assistants to reduce clerical workload and support the development of underwriting and brokering skills. Foster strong relationships with internal departments, producers, carriers, and competitors. Perform other duties as needed.

Be Successful:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of experience as an assistant underwriter or processor. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information. Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products. Passion for learning new technologies and enhancing existing skills. Self-starter with the ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively. Ability to adapt and respond in a rapidly evolving business environment.

Pay Range $55,000 - $60,000 Annual The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
