About the Role Richdale Apartments is seeking a detail-oriented and highly efficient Underwriter to join our team in either Omaha or Houston. This position plays a vital role in reviewing and evaluating rental applications, ensuring compliance with company policies, and delivering outstanding customer service throughout the applicant approval process. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and able to make objective decisions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential. Key Responsibilities Review and evaluate rental applications in accordance with company guidelines and screening criteria. Verify income, employment, credit history, rental history, and background information. Assess applicant qualifications and make approval recommendations based on established policies. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and all applicable regulations. Maintain accurate and organized records of underwriting decisions and supporting documentation. Communicate professionally with applicants, leasing teams, and property management staff regarding application status and required documentation. Process applications efficiently while maintaining a high degree of accuracy. Identify discrepancies, potential risks, or missing information and escalate as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Qualifications Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Previous experience in underwriting, leasing, property management, financial review, or a related field preferred. Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and rental screening processes is a plus.
