Job Description

Grow With Us! We are currently seeking a motivated and ambitious in house Surety Underwriter to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to build relationships and service our Surety customers. This position will report to our agency located in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. The position is full time and on-site in our office. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, their representatives, and surety company personnel. Participate as a team member in a fast-paced, growing environment open to continuous improvement. Negotiate with surety underwriters to obtain approval for accounts and place bonds. Strong written and verbal skills a must. Review and analyze bid requests to prepare contract and commercial bonds. Accurately and efficiently maintain electronic client account records and electronic file documentation through our agency management systems. Qualifications Three to five years' experience in surety with underwriting background. Must be able to multi-task while maintaining accuracy. Accuracy in this position is critical. Must be detailed oriented and organized. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Professional and friendly demeanor, positive attitude and willingness to help others. Proficiency in Microsoft office and AMS 360 is preferred.
