Overview
The purpose for the Title Claims Underwriter position is to assist in leading the pre-foreclosure title and loan modification line of business with the title underwriting guidance. The Title Claims Underwriter will review title claims for departments to access, limit and rebuttal liability. Title Claims Underwriter will review claims and work with management to identify problems with title procedures and risk items. Title Claims Underwriter will work with title production teams to ensure quality of title is being met.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
In this role, you will… Assist staff by guiding the team on title procedures. Assist with client correspondence, management correspondence, and participating in client calls or management meetings. Assist production teams with new protocols, procedures, and areas of improvement in the title operation. Assist with researching claims, communicating with legal, and updating systems with claim progress. Assist with title training for clients, staff, and management teams. Assist with collecting funds, providing reports, and completing special projects as assigned.WHO YOU ARE
You possess … A natural problem solver with strong critical‑thinking skills. Tech‑savvy, with strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly. Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a team environment. Strong communicator who can clearly present information to colleagues and clients. Adaptable and able to adjust quickly to changing processes or requirements. Dependable, with a strong sense of accountability and follow‑ Responsibilities Assist staff by guiding team with directions on title procedures. Assist in addressing client correspondence or management correspondence. Assist production teams with setting up new protocols and procedures. Assist with researching claims. Assist in assessing areas of improvement amongst the title operation. Assist in completing title training for clients, staff and management teams. Assist in communicating with the legal department to limit liability on claims. Assist in collecting funds from abstractors or 3rd party vendors. Update ServiceLink systems with progress of claims. Provide daily, weekly, monthly reports to management or clients. Assist with special projects assigned by the management team. Participate in client calls and/or management meetings. Complete all other assignments as needed. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years Default experience preferred. Supervisory or Leadership experience is a plus. Intermediate PC skills, typing, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) proficiency required. Ability to learn and master multiple systems. Previous mortgage or default experience is required. Maintain proactive approach to problem resolution & goal achievement. Critical thinking and reasoning skills required.
