Job Description:
Our client is a growing specialty insurance organization focused on delivering tailored casualty insurance solutions to the construction sector. With a strong presence in the artisan contractor marketplace, they provide innovative General Liability and Excess coverage programs for residential construction risks nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Construction Casualty Underwriter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated underwriting professional who enjoys building broker relationships, making sound underwriting decisions, and contributing to a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Manage and expand relationships with a designated portfolio of wholesale brokerage partners Review and analyze new business and renewal submissions to determine risk acceptability Evaluate exposures, pricing adequacy, coverage structures, and deductible options Prepare and deliver competitive quotations while maintaining underwriting profitability Authorize binding decisions within established underwriting authority guidelines Ensure accuracy and quality throughout the policy issuance process Serve as a trusted underwriting resource for broker partners, delivering responsive and professional service Monitor production results and provide performance insights and reporting as needed Support ongoing enhancements to underwriting workflows, operational processes, and best practices Identify opportunities to improve risk quality and overall portfolio performance Collaborate with team members and assist in mentoring less experienced staff Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 5 years' experience underwriting construction casualty risk Strong General Liability underwriting background require Knowledge of construction-related exposures, contractual risk transfer, and industry trend Demonstrated ability to make sound underwriting decisions and manage broker relationships effectively Desired Skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word Why Consider This Opportunity Join a rapidly growing specialty insurance platform Work alongside experienced underwriting professionals Opportunity for career growth and advancement Entrepreneurial culture with the ability to make a meaningful impact Competitive compensation and benefits package
