Job Description

Marine Asset Manager Reports to:
Director of Marine Operations Supervises:
Secondary oversight of Marine Operations Assistant.
Compensation:
$22-25 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Job Summary:
The Marine Asset Manager position is responsible for the professional management of the LBYC and LBSF fleets. This position will manage the maintenance schedules, day-to-day usage of all fleets, engine upkeep, and functionality of all the boats.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations:
Experience operating and/or maintaining 20'-40' sailboats, powerboats, including basic outboard engine maintenance and sailboat rigging. Experience in safe docking/mooring of vessels up to 80', med-mooring experience preferable but not required. Working knowledge of basic regatta management equipment ie. Flags, race marks, ground tackle, etc. preferred, but not required. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to safely drive while trailering a 25' trailer, including all customary maneuvers, parking, and loading/unloading at both boat ramp and hoist. Experience working with fiberglass repairs and Epoxy resins preferable, but not required. Working knowledge of rigging, tuning, repair, and general boat maintenance including the use of basic hand tools and power tools Enthusiastic, flexible, trustworthy, self-motivated, and able to take initiative and follow through.
Job Tasks/Duties:
Oversee the care and maintenance of the Soling fleet, Catalina 37 fleet, Club Duffy, and support boats. Make sure all boats are covered properly on days they are not in use and during the off-season. Manage check-in/check-out system for Soling Sailboats and coordinate with Front Desk, Director of Marine Operations, Yachting Director, and Sailing Director regarding boat reservation system Clean, prepare, and cast-off/catch Club Duffy for LBYC membership reservations. Wash and wax Soling fleet as per fleet schedule. At all times ensure a SAFE and enjoyable environment for all members both on the water and off. Update soling reservations on club website master calendar daily Coordinate with sailors/assessors for Soling Skipper Card assessment dates monthly. Arrange for immediate repairs when necessary (breakdowns, damage, etc.) Assist with Regatta preparation as directed Ensure all gear is properly stored after every use Enforce policies of LBYC, and if necessary, defer to Dockmaster. Attend events, functions, and meetings as directed. Maintain boats in clean condition, making sure regular engine flushes are performed. Check engine oil levels at regular intervals, adding approved marine engine oil as necessary.
Licenses/Special Requirements:
US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Certification (California Boater's Card) US Sailing SafeSport Certification Red Cross certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid US Sailing Membership preferred, but not required
Job Requirements:
Full-time 40+ hours per week. Additional hours for weekend regattas. Must be able to reach, bend, stretch, twist, stoop, and stand. Must be able to push and lift up to 50 pounds safely. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to comfortably work in both indoor as well as outdoor environments which may at times be hot, humid, and noisy. Must be able to comfortably work aboard both small and large boats, both in the harbor and in open ocean.
